Well, the groups I am suggesting would not have any significant
difference to manually moving multiple units around together,
it would just make it much easier for the user to do.

Right, but thats just because the AI is not smart enough.
Currently, it could stock up units and attack with lots of
units; the code has some suggestions that it tries to do this,
maybe not very successfully.
Adding explicit groups would _still_ mean the AI has to be made
smart enough the understand using groups. Though maybe some of
the coding would be easier.
