CivCTP is different, though.  The "Academy" (first science building)
produces raw light bulbs proportional to your city's population (+1/2),
and then gives a +50% boost to science from that city.  The Publishing
House gives +1/2 light bulb per pop, and then +25%.  The University
gives a straight +50%; the Computer Center gives +1/2 light bulb per
pop and then +50%; and the Bio Memory Chip gives +1 light bulb per pop
and then +50%.

Just so you know that the +50% "rule" isn't carved in stone. :)

(Of course, CivCTP also uses a very different calculation for science
points in the first place, since upkeep and wages are paid from your gold
income *before* the science percent is calculated, instead of after as
in all the other Civ games....)
