i agree... i think the exchange of ideas is a good thing...  how else are
we to learn if we don't exchange ideas?  textbooks can only teach you so
much...  hearing other's ideas and being challenged (respectfully and
maturely) by others helps us learn more about ourselves and can even (at
times) make our own beliefs stronger... even if the people challenging us
are 100% against what we believe in...  but, like it says, personal attacks
and a few of the little one-liners stuck in here and there are (or at least
can be) offensive and do not belong here...  personally, so far in this
thread, i do not feel attacked or swayed in my beliefs...  i know what i
believe and how i feel and i'm secure in them... some of the posts have
agreed with my thoughts (expressed or not) and some have not, but most have
at the least made me think...  i think that's the biggest point of
dicussions ... to make one think...

fortunately i doubt that would happen on this list, but sadly i know there
are many other situations where things like this have happened in the
history of the US and the history of the world...
