Surely, as the FS client will have much more of the map available then
this would be a massive advantage in multiplayer. Especially if you
can iconify the GUI and have nothing but map.

Remember that I've been designing the GUI with isometric tilesets in
mind, mainly because they're larger. When using the trident tileset
a lot more information can be shown. So for instance an area that
displays 3 x 2 full sized isometric units (64x48) will hold 6 x 3
trident sized units (30x30) or 3 x 3 isotrident sized units (64x32).

See below for my thoughts on this.

I'm thinking of making a compact city popup that is the same size as
the Main GUI and would appear over it. It would pretty much have
only the city map, city output and worklists as these tend to be the
most used. Useful for when you only want quick changes without
obscuring the map. The full size and compact size could be switched
between with a single maximize/minimize button or keypress. A switch
in the 'Settings page' would allow you to define which is opened by
default.

Or maybe the compact could be opened by holding the left button over a
city (as it is now) and the full one could be opened by double
clicking?

I intend to this with all the reports (Cities, Units, etc) as well,
compact size for quick access, full size for detailed information.
