I don't want that fundamentalism is added to the default ruleset and if
you prefer to do
so, I'm even non-interested to have fundamentalism added to civ2
ruleset.
What I really hope is to have fundamentalism supporting code into
freeciv, so that if I want to play with my friends with fundamentalism I
can do that.
(yes, I can keep up to date my patch, against the latest CVS, and I'll
do so, but I think that many other player can be interested in having
fundamentalism, as an option, so why not having it in the main
development tree?)
On the AI problem, I have to say that I don't play much with AI, because
is so stupid that is not an interesting competitor. This can be a
problem only if:
1) Someone want to play against AI
2) He enables fundamentalism
But, If we put fundamentalism as an option, that one have to enable by
himself, modifying the ruleset, then this can't be a problem.
Furthermore, I've briefly checked the code, and to me nothing seems bad.
What seems to me is that for computer AIs fundamentalism is an option,
if they became fundy, they can exploit its main production and
economical advantages. Instead if they don't choose fundy they play as
before.
Definitely AI can handle fundamentalism, but perhaps the code don't
exploit it.
