Hmm.  Most algorithms require that you break your names in syllables (or,
rather, reusable components).  So that:

Amst:er:dam
Rott:er:dam
Groen:ing:en

Give us:

Groenerdam
Rottingdam
Amstingdam

etc...

Someone has an algorithm to randomly generate tolkein-esque names they wrote
for some angband variant, IIRC -- maybe greg would remember...
