I agree, I want to learn more about Debian. When my Knoppix install
went 'south', then I had some help to install Debian with gnome. I like
Debian so much that now I want to format the RedHat install and put
Debian with KDE on that computer. The Debian install is different than
RedHat or Suse, but Debian runs great and seems to have more to offer
than the other distros. Debian is the main computer that I use now and
I also have a web/database server running debian. Now I just need to
figure out how to get seti to run on debian and the switch-over will be
finialized.
The only reason why I stayed with RedHat as long as I did is because I
know more about how it works, I have a couple of books about RedHat, and
I was able to use Synaptic (a GUI interface for debian apt-get) to get
my RedHat updates. I was getting really tired of the hassles from
RedHat to get updates. All the distros work somewhat the same, but just
have a few different features. At least consumers get a choice as to
how they want their OS to be. ~Anne
