As some one else pointed out, your ADSL service will be just as good (if not
better due to line testing that is done) as your current voice service!

So if you have allot of troubles with your voice line.. then you will have
the equal number of troubles with your ADSL service.... But the one
difference that I found is.. you report troubles to the DSL service they
have bent over backward to clear the line troubles!!  They use a different
(newer) set of tools to test the copper lines and can find errors, line
troubles that the voice service does not pick-up.

One other thing to point out, cheap / older phones seem to pick up the data
signal [sounds like line noise] that newer phones do not. I have three
'Lined' phones and two 'Cordless' phones, two of lined phones have a
background noise while the rest of the phones are very clear! (I was told
that it had something to do with the voice coil used in these phones??)
