Thought you would like to know - concerning marketplaces, banks, and stock markets At Deity level in Civ2, I find it almost impossible to switch to the Republic if every city greater than size 3 does not have a marketplace. I have to initially set the luxury level at 20% for the empire. The unhappiness level is overwhelming and the luxury boost of 50% from the marketplace is too important. A bank adds another 50%, and a stock market (rare) adds a further 50%, for a total increase of 150% to the current number of
luxury points.
