I reported this problem a few months ago.  At least on my Solaris system,
it seems that no matter what size the client window is, if a row takes,
say, X pixels, then you can see somewhere between 0 and X pixels of the
bottom row.  When the bottom row isn't visible, you can shorten the window
vertically and then use the scrollbar and try again, but it's a delicate
operation.
