I used MDK8.1 with my nVidia GeForce2 MX 400 card and got decent results
with the "nv" driver that came w/ XFree86 4.1.0, BUT OpenGL apps were less
than appealing...  After installing the nVidia_GLX and nVidia_kernel
packages from nvidia.com OpenGL apps ran beautifully!Quite an amazing
difference!  Plus, i can now have a nifty shadow under my cursor just like
win2k....  oooo...  : ^ )

i'm now running slack8.0 w/ XF86-4.2 and the nVidia drivers, which still
blows my mind!  (granted, i recently went from 64MB RAM -> 256MB RAM, P200
-> P4 1.6GHz, and 2MB vid ram to 64MB, so my observations may be slightly
off! : ^ )

anyway, if you're not using the nVidia drivers, i'd reccommend atleast
trying them...  they're VERY easy to install, even on slack! : ^ )
