Let's throw in the ideas.

I'll go first.

(1) Caravans and your cities

(1)(a) "Help production"

"Help build wonder" is useful. Could be very useful a generalized 
version of this: "Help production" (whatever it is). Would be great to 
help little new cities to build factories, harbors, offshore platforms, 
and things like that.
  * This disbands the caravan
  * You can't use "Help production" with a caravan that has been used 
for anything else, before that

(1)(b) "Send food supplies"

You can fill the caravan with food supplies (taken from the granary of 
the city where the caravan is in) and use it to fill another granary, 
helping a city to grow.
  * This does not disband the caravan

(2) Caravans and foreign cities

(2)(a) "Sell production"

You will help the production of that city, negotiating the amount of 
gold that you will receive in payment for that. Negotiation window will 
pop-up, and if an agreement is not signed, caravan could normally move 
on next turn.
  * This disbands the caravan.
  * You can't use "Sell production" with a caravan that has been used 
for anything else, before that

(2)(b) "Sell food supplies"
You send food just like in "Send food supplies" and you negotiate 
payment just like in "Sell production".
  * This does not disband the caravan

(2)(c) "Sell caravan"
You sell the caravan itself, negotiating payment like above.
  * Obviously this does not disband the caravan

(3) Caravans and Trade

This modifies the rules even further.
  * It implies that using ordinary diplomacy you can't "negotiate" 
anything but treaties.
System:
  - When a caravan enters a city, you enter "Caravan negotiation 
window". It is just like the "diplomacy negotiation window" we already 
have, but you can't contract treaties.

In this "Caravan negotiation window" you can negotiate:
  - Advances (maybe no more than X per Caravan?)
  - Gold
  - Cities: not any city, only the city that mantains the caravan, and 
the city where the caravan is doing the negotiations
  - Units: you can sell the caravan, you can receive units located in 
the city ratius
  - Science bulbs: if you are researching something that the other 
player doesn't have, you can give him some science bulbs (you do not 
loose them). He can do the same to you if he is researching something 
you don't have. This really stimulates science, and caravan production, 
and coordination between players.

Maybe we could do something with luxury too, but i'm not going to thing 
about that right now.
