his message came out kinda harsh.

What we decided was to create a special list for local people, to
discuss things like meetings and things that would interest people able
to attend meetings or that have seen us locally. It would also take
away from this list a lot of discussion that people thought would better
go to another list, so not to annoy those who aren't interested in such.
We have a list set up, and it is publically archived, but it is
restricted signup, so everyone must be signed up by an admin, (this will
be done when they meet us at a meeting and give us their email address)
. We are now waiting for everyone to be signed up for the new list.

We also talked about a form of membership, tentatively called a voting
member.

We discussed various critera for this member one of the most agreed was
it should be someone that comes to meetings.

There was a fear if we didn't do this, someone not really involved might
come to a meeting one time and sway an important vote.

We've also decided to limit our lecuter meetings (previously just called
meetings). To one a month, the 2 Monday of the month. We may still add
pure social meetings, installfests, workshops, etc.

We want better control of the website. We want more information to be
availble from this. (Dale Hodges and I both now have full access to the
website and can change anything on it we want). There was talk of moving
it to a locally hosted machine.

I didn't take notes and this is off the top of my head, so if anyone has
anything I missed or misintrepreted let me know.

Also even though we are creating a seperate email list with membership
exclusively for those who attend meeting, we don't want to ignore anyone
suggestions, its just that we think the decisions on how we handle
meeting and local things should be done by those who attend them.

None of this will affect the mailing lists, other then possibly moving
them. And we plan to improve the website to make it a better source of
information.
