[linux-help] Re: Kernel compile

My new kernel is running!  Thanks to all of you for your help.  Without this
kind of support Linux could not become what we all hope it will.

Eliminating hyphens in lilo.conf and making both the images point to sym-links
didn't help.  The problem was too many "read-only" statements.  I have no idea
what read-only means here, but after I commented the second one out I no
longer got the error message.

The new kernel seems to be working - sort of. I lost my sound and the flex
won't work so I have more work to do.
