Thanks, Nate.  I was just winding up to go to bed.  Have an early tee time 
tomorrow.  The
'no hyphen' idea looks promising.  I know I had tabs in the previous lilo.conf, 
but it
also had sym links to the kernel.  I'll try it tomorrow.
