Xconq includes the names and flags of the ~140 nations
with populations over 1 million, and sets of town names
for about 100 of them so far.

Pick up a 7.2.95 snap from http://sourceware.cygnus.com/xconq,
and look in lib; the countries are in lib/nat-names.g, the
names are in the various ng-*.g, and 8x8 flag images are
in flags.imf.

The images are in a funky portable format, use the "xshowimf"
or "ximfapp" tools to display, but at 8x8 they're so stripped-down
it might better to start from scratch. The city names should
be easy to extract, and save you the backbreaking part of
poring over atlases. Xconq is all GPL, and I'd be happy to
have bits of it go to improve FreeCiv.
