Jeff -
Those of us that were 'early adapter's of the SWB DSL service do not need
PPPoE, we are a lucky few that have DHCP, but if you are a new customer,
depending on where in town you live, and which switch office you are
connected to, you might find yourself having to use PPPoE to connect up, So
SWB is just telling all customers that they will have to use PPPoE.
From what I have been told new customers that connect to the Jackson (52x)
exchange in Wichita will now have to use PPPoE to connect because the newer
network connection hardware does not allow for DHCP.
UNLESS the customer pays the $$$$ for a static IP address.
