I always recommend that you use a 'fake' domain for a home network... for
instance, www.mypgnet.home, instead of .com. Reason: If mypgnet.com really
exists, you won't be able to access it--you'll always access your home
network intead. If you know that mypgnet.com exists, and that you'll never
ever ever have any reason to use it... go ahead, I guess (still seems bad to
me, but whatever... knock yourself out :-). If you happen to have that
domain registered, but idle, then it's okay, obvoiusly, too... b/c you can
control if it's used elsewhere.

Now... to answer your question... You probably want to set up a DNS server
(i.e. bind). You'll probably want to read the DNS-HOWTO at the very
least... you may want to do more reading, too, online, or perhaps the
O'Reily book called (I believe), "Bind and DNS" (or is it "DNS and Bind?")

A Los Angeles man who later said he was "tired of walking," stole a
steamroller and led police on a 5 mph chase until an officer stepped aboard
and brought the vehicle to a stop.
