Yippee!!!

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I decided to strace WordPerfect to
see where it was dying.  The strace output said something about print
services, so I checked to see the status of lpr on my laptop.  Sure enough,
since I almost never want to print from my laptop, I had disabled lpr a
while back.  I got lpr setup--didn't need to configure a printer--and that
solved the problem.  The whole office suite is working now.  Kind of a
fruity bug if you ask me (it could have at least told me why it had to
die!!!), but it's easy enough to solve.
