[linux-help] Boot problem kernels 2.4x

Hi,
  Recompiled kernel 2.4.3, 2.4.5 and 2.4.7, everything goes fine but when I
boot from the new kernel machine hangs at the line saying "booting kernel
xxxx blah blah ok." and nothing happens after that, thats the second line on
stdout after the kernel starts to boot...any hint whats going wrong??? tried
compiling the kernels on AMDs, Intel P1,2,3's, Sparc32..but the same
problem!!
