yup, and everything looks fine when the connection dies

not really sure about this one...  if i unplug the modem and plug it back
in, i can ping and everything w/o changing anything on the computer (which
further supports my theory that it's got nothing to do w/ the computer)

I'd have to look at the manual, but i don't believe there is this
feature...
