Excellent points.  Preserving the past is just as important as looking to the 
future.  And the two really should not be mutually exclusive.  
   
  Besides, FUN is indeed important too.  :)

Sure, but as a bridge to the past, I think it would be fun to also cover the
service on the old port number like the old Veronicas did, just with the
new database.

Note that essentially we're on the same page here, or I wouldn't be writing
*new* Gopher software! :)
