Ok, I missed nearly all of the preceding discussion, but:

So the server will execute the path? Then the server should save it, or
being able to recompute, or what else.

>  - the server sends the goal back as goto_dest_[xy]

The server sends the path back to the client. Persistence problem gone.
Not too much traffic.
