I put a few printf in a game to check the cost of techs, comparing old and
new methods. The result is not good. Techs become a _lot_ cheaper. Of
course, since a often has a lot of other techs that are _not_ dependencies
if it. What to do? (The duplicates and the ridiculously low "would be"
results are probably barbarians. They are ignored in the first calculation.)
We could double researchcost to offset this cheapening, but that would
make science a lot slower in the beginning. If we cannot come up with a
good way to deal with this, we'll have to pull tech_chost_style 1 for now,
IMHO.
