That's why I didn't speak up against it earlier as it looked to be optional. I just think it is not worth the effort since the random map in the game bears little resemblence to the real world geography anyway. It's like the patch which adds national currency names. Cute, yes. But IMHO it adds little to the game.

Really, this patch to the code doesn't change behavior _at all_, it just introduces a new feature into the rulesets. Only when the rulesets are changed will the behavior of the game change. So if you want this not to happen, you should (IMO) be talking to the ruleset writers.

To be fair, it is not that much of a big deal as it's not a gameplay issue. So if some people like to see it, then why not. Although it looks like Unnecessary Complexity (TM) to me.
