1.12.0 seems like a nice stable base for the maximum number of people to
experiment with :-).

Be happy to run the update against CVS in a few days with whatever things
you think are worth checking in. I can pick up any more of your tidying
efforts at that time as well so the patch goes smoothly.

But as I said, I suspect that putting it verbatim into CVS without a review
is likely not such a good idea. 

Let me know your requirements, i.e. the whats and whens ... and I'll try to
accommodate them.
