C. I think perl accounts for something below 30%. That's the
point I was trying to make, C is the "standard", like it or not
(and I don't) ;-)

Huh, now there is. An ANSI and ISO standard was agreed upon in
98 and the g++ in egcs implements that. Also, the major C++
packages (including dpkg, dselect, apt) have been upgraded to
make good use of this. Qt is perhaps the single big piece of C++
code to miss it, and yet I heard Qt 2.0 will use the new
features. Gtk-- and VDK already do. I can provide you with some
