Just a side note... I was talking to someone else about this same topic
tonight, and decided to run a quick benchmark between Pine and Mutt.
Nothing fancy...
Hardware: Pentium 100Mhz, 16mb RAM + 40mb swap. 1gb IDE hard drive.
To open a 9mb mailbox Pine took 21 seconds and afterwards, 'top' output
showed it consuming 10396kb of RAM.
To open the exact same mailbox with mutt took 11 seconds (and I even did
mutt first, so any filesystem bufferng advantage would have been in Pine's
favor), and 'top' output showed it consuming 3688kb of RAM.
