AVOID:
   Conner          (you'd rather use 180K floppies than one of these)
   Maxtor          (maybe worth $5)
   Quantum         (maybe worth $5.01)

Having said that <g>, good brands are:

   IBM
   Seagate
   Fujitsu
   Western Digital*

* Their drives aren't quite as good as the other three, and they don't
make SCSI, but you can often find them cheaper.  Some would say the
same about Seagate's IDE drives; I know that the SCSI drives are great
though.
