Linux does not partition it fron c to i.

The linux partitions would be hda1 ..... hdaX.

If you are using disk druid to partition a disk that size it often will
fail. I have had disk druid put partitions at the end of the disk
instead of at the beginning (in the order it wants to and not the order
created). Since Linux often requires the boot partition to be within
the first 1024 cylinders disk druid does not work on the larger drives.

Similarly, the auto partition during the install sometimes fails for the
same reason.

I suggest you use fdisk since that always puts the partitions in the
order you specify. Partition the drive with / (and maybe /boot if you
are using a separate partition for that) as the first partition(s). Then
go with other partitions after that. You should also specify the
partition size.
