I have an interesting problem at work that started a few days ago. One of our file/print servers started dropping connections, both Samba and ssh sessions. It has the strange ability to ping everyone on the intranet except one box. However, that box can ping the questionable server.

I replaced the NIC but nothing changed. I can't think of anything that would have changed; no new programs, upgrades, etc. It just sat in the corner serving files until a few days ago. I can't find anything suggestive in the logs, but maybe I don't know what to look for. What would cause a computer to be able to ping everyone, except for one computer? Could this be related to the dropped connections.
