instead of bouncing, they are forced to "go to" the nearest border, if 
any.

causes problems if there is no nearest border, though.

unless behaviour is changed from beta7, AI really does lots of peace 
treties...

The AI is surely bound by this but doesn't know it has to break its peace treaty to invade. But then the AI never, ever makes peace treaties (it always goes straight to alliance).
