This is the patch, I have verified on my system and all seems ok.
(anyway review is needed for eventual misbehavior)

./autogen.sh has to be re-run, because some makefile.am are modified.

Doh!  Check out PR#2156 that I submitted yesterday.

The good news is, our patches are virtually identical. There are just a couple of minor differences in comments and spacing. And I think in shared/plrhand.h you've put the #includes in the "wrong" order.

So, I think either of these could happily be applied as-is (whoever does this, make sure to "cvs rm common/attribute.h" before committing).
