Nah, I'm quite sure on this one :)
We have come to a point were we are all either rushing for pyramids or
colossus at the very beginning (3-4 turns perhaps). This is way before
caravans are available. 

Not knowing what the others are building and when they start building
it, makes it a lot more exiting.

It also makes it harder to guess the tech tree others are following,
especially with many players were almost all wonders are built.

With wonder notification on, we would have to build fake wonders all the
time, switching to the 'real' wonder in the last minute, thus making
more micro-management :)
