Liberation, really? I haven't seen that yet, my mistake. This
still wouldn't help in the situation of a WW2 scenario and
Prague. Prague would have to be shown as a Nazi controlled city
producing war material for the Reich at the start of the scenario
anyway, and since there isn't a Czech nation in existence to
retake Prague, Prague's liberation would have to come at the hands
of the Allies (Soviets got there first, right?), which is
basically what actually happened.
I also agree this discussion is getting out of hand, see below.
We seem to be drifting from the original debate.

P.S., I hope partisans were made stronger in freeciv, because I
never found them to be significant in Civ2. Their 4 point defense
was not enough to stop 10 and 12 point attacks, they died quickly
after being born.

So, if the Dutch landed today at Lady Liberty's feet, your
saying the residents of the Big Apple would treat them as
liberators and throw a party? :-)) And I don't even want to
think what would happen if the Mexican army rolled into south
central L.A., the city of angels! :-))

This is why I keep trying to say this issue is impossible to fix
to everybody's satisfaction. The code to handle cities which have
changed hands would have to track many variables for each city
over the city's life time, the code for this would be majorly
complex, and would be without any significant gain in enjoyment of
the game.
