Well, I made some beginner mystakes :

        I didn't know what dynamic linking was till
a friend of mine explained me. He shown me 
how to put a symbolic link to the good library.
( I couldn't understand what the wrapper did before that. )

        I forgot to install the ressource file.
It took me time to understand the problem was related to that. 

        It may be good to add two things in the FAQ.
 - first one : Explain how to do the "ls -l" which gives the
dynamic library used at a moment. Explain how to do
the "ln -s" to use the rigth Xaw library.

 - second one : Just one sentence 
If you got a message which look like those
 Warning: Cannot convert string "econlabel0" to type Widget
 Warning: Cannot convert string "meswinlabel" to type Widget
 Warning: Cannot convert string "meswinlist" to type Widget
 Warning: Cannot convert string "messageoptcdlabel" to type Widget
have you changed the ressourcefile /freeciv/data/Freeciv ?

All of this may help more people to get hooked !
