Hi,

I too experienced the problems with the xaw3d library. Although my
(debian) system has a 'xaw-wrapper' which claims to work around the 3d
libs, segfaults came up. I tried a few things to overcome this.
First the patch: applying it gives a rejection for Makefile.noimake. the
rest seems to patch correct. Compiling gives in the client dir a number
of parsing errors for the xaw libs (eg X11/Xaw/Command.h). Mostly the
file pixcomm.c triggers the problems.
Then I saw the precompiled rmp-package. I just used alien to generate a
debian package, and installed it nicely over freeciv1.5 . With that I
again had the first problem, segfault with the client part.
Do I really have a problem now, or is the precompiled rmp-package not
compiled correctly ? And what can I do to get the freeciv1.7 working ?
(I need that ai-part)

Thanks and keep up the good work !

Tim Coninx
