Unfortunately, I have to use Windows2000 for the corporate mail (Microsoft
Oulook exchange) and for the corporate database. In addition, because some of
our customers use Windows platforms, I need to make sure I have Windows under
my fingertips to access their user envrionments.

I have been using Monta Vista, Suse, and unfortunately VxWorks for my HW/SW
development environments. Monta Vista folks told me that I can "bridge" the
Microsoft Mail to Linux Mail server. However, because they do not support it,
they could not help me.

I would like to know how the whole installation of VmWare or Win4Lin goes. Will
I be installing Windows 2000 and all the SW for the Windows environment (i.e.
Microsoft Office, the corporat business database, etc.) in my Linux box or will
I have to have a "dual boot" machine?

Thanks for your help.

Alex.

vmware server is free, Ive been using VMware for several years now for
all my windows needs.. needless to say I dont use it much, last time I
fired it up was to update the firmware on my DVD rom. At a former
employer I ran the server version on one of our servers so I could run
linux on my workstation and I just ran the database/billing/inventory
software in the VMWare.. used it every day for almost 2 years.. At the
moment such solutions are the best options for those of us who only
use linux and dont want to poision our machines with a windows
installation. What kind of information are you looking for?
