well, the reason I initially brought it up was that it is also an OpenSource
OS and in many ways it falls into the same categories as Linux, thus making
it a possibility when deciding what linux distro (or OS) to install on one's
system... jonathan mentioned he had thought of trying it, and i replied
stating what i liked about it... when i joined the list (a few years ago) i
never saw any rules stating that 1.) the general discussion list (when it
was branched out from the initial single list) was to soley contain
discussions on linux or 2.) that one thread has to remain on topic... just
view the archives! any and every user group list i've been on has very
rarely stayed on topic... it's just the way things work... someone mentions
something, someone has a question that might not pertain to the initial
topic, but someone's nice enuf to answer it anyway... it's almost human
nature to not stay on-topic...

besides, since when is Red Dwarf, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc, etc, etc,
linux-related? :^ )

also, i've seen many threads about linux on freebsd lists... no one really
seemed to complain... i could understand more if it was on the linux-help
list, but it's on the discussion list...
