Mac OS X is BSD-based. Meaning it's based on the Berkley kernel. Solaris,
NeXT, HP/UX, Linux, etc, etc are all also Unicies. That doesn't mean
they're all based on the BSD kernel (although some of them are--I beleive
the latest Solaris kernel is based on BSD?) Linux obviously is not based on
the BSD kernel.
I don't know if NeXT is based on BSD or not.

Floppy disk tip #3: Do not fold diskettes unless they do not fit into the
drive. "Big" Diskettes may be folded and used in "Little" drives.
