did the latest greatest thang and now i'm looking at 1280 x 1024 @ 32 bit!
life is good!

That card you have to use with the XF86_S3V server (not the XF86_S3
server). Make sure you've got the right one, and if that doesn't
work, make sure you've got the most recent version of X (3.3.3.1, I
believe).
If that doesn't work, please be a bit more specoific about "didn't
work". Were there any error messages?
