In your message center window, select Edit then Preferences. Then under
Mail & Groups, select Mail Server. Right now you probably have POP3
selected, so click on the Movemail application radio button and then
select Built in from the list below it. Click OK. Netscape will tell
you that you'll have to restart the app for the changes to take effect,
but here the changes work anyway even without a restart.

That's all I had to do as my mailbox is in /var/spool/mail. If I do a
set command at the Bash prompt, my mail variable is set as follows:

MAIL=/var/spool/mail/nate

So, Netscape probably looks at that to determine which mailbox to use.
Now, to get your messages click the far left toolbar button in Message
Center or the message viewing window.
