I'm inclined to agree, though Solaris does offer better Java support at
this point.

The major problems I see with moving to Solaris is that it supports a
much more limited hardware base, no support options I can afford, and it
is somewhat more resource intensive than Linux. (At least on the X86
platform).

On the other hand... If you need Java 1.2, your choices are between
Operating Systems that cost money and solaris....  Linux does not yet
support 1.2, nor is a release of it seem to be even close.

For now, I dual boot at home...
