Success!!!!!!!
I took one last look thru google and found a parameter setting, I hadn't
messed with:
dot11PrivacyInvoked=true
I changed that restarted and poof I have an ip on wlan0!!!
I wish the readme had explained on how to get wep to work, I've been
beating my had for days over it
