I'm not sure about that, I finally got the video card disable (involved 
taking the machine in half). 

I'd suspect a video problem, if thinkgs displated wrong, but I'd think the 
video drivers are a higer level then the kernel. 

The only thing that makes me thinks its the video, is that until I 
installed the new card, It worked veeeeeeery slooooow, but no problems 
like this.
