SBC sells hub/routers.  They may not "support" them as in helping with
them... but I'm sure they'll let you use them.

They set it up for me when I was running Linux.  They set it up for Jared
Johnson, who was running Linux.

AFAIK, they're using exclusively PPPoE for "residential" accounts now...
(i.e. a single IP).  If you get business-class, with 5 IPs (perhaps even
with a single IP), then they just use statically assigned IPs (i.e. neither
DHCP nor PPPoE).  I believe the only people with DHCP any more are those who
signed up before they started using PPPoE.
