I'm still not sure what the problem is, but I do know that it has a
runaway script on bootup. I tried to run an update on the hard drive
and that is when I saw the looping script. The hard drive may have a
trojan or a corrupt file. I might have had a power glitch that
corrupted some files on the hard drive. I already have RedHat 7.2 with
the 2.4 kernal.

I was prepared to replace the mobo and/or hard drive. All the hardware
was throughly tested and checks out ok. I decided to replace the hard
drive and will try to recover some important files off the old hard
drive before I zero it out. What a bizzare experience! ~Anne
