happened, but KDE didn't come back. So after a week + of  no Linux I decided to
reinstall.
Still no KDE. It's almost like I'm  not supposed to use Linux or something. So 
if
I'm going to stick with it , it looks like I may do a lot of backing up and
reinstalling and I need to read up on fixing the OS, that is, if it's possible 
for
newbies to grasp what goes on and what goes wrong. Do they have that stuff at
linuxdoc.org? I got some good advice at linuxnewbie.org but it didn't get me 
out of
the forest. Cheers.
