Can anyone tell me what the Road Runner cable connection requires?

Apparently they only know Windows. How do I deal with them and what

do I need to add to this computer. Apparently I need an ethernet card

which must need a driver. Must I set up a Windows box just to deal

with them or will they install the cable and leave me to deal with it.

Do they use CHAP like AT&T or is it a simple connection routine.
