If you are dual booting with windows, run fdisk /mbr from a DOS prompt.
This will restore the master boot record for windows.  Then start Linux from
the cd and redo you lilo.conf file.

I have the same problem as Jim, but i hang on "L-" instead of "LIL-". I
just installed redhat linux on my custom built computer and can only
boot through a floppy.  I would appreciate hearing about any remedies
